Family Medical Updates from today
Posted by tom | May 23, 2006Good report from Eden's Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) evaluation this morning. The tubes in her ears are functioning well, fluid is not interfering w/her hearing. The ENT is for the first time saying that she may regain hearing in her left ear, because her other neurological symptoms are improving. It is possible that the auditory nerve may recover. Praise God! We meet w/our primary physican at Children's Hospital on Thursday morning, followed by an MRI. We are looking for the MRI to reveal a continued decrease of the actual size of the brain bleed.
Tom's neurological evaluation was mixed as he had some form of an episode on May 9. His dilantin level will be slightly increased and will need to identify a neurologist in the Lancaster area during the transition.
Theresa had Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), on Friday, to address her extreme near-sightedness (off the chart). Her vision has greatly improved, it was 20/30 when evaluated today BUT she has been experiencing some periodic stinging in the eyes particularly toward the end of the day. Please pray for her eyes to continue to heal quickly. She went to bed rather early tonight to rest her eyes.
