Ear infections, low sleep

Posted by tom | Dec 15, 2006
Eden has had ear infections for quite some time and has had difficulty sleeping at times (quite often she joins us in bed at 2:30pm and wakes up periodically afterward, being passed off to Grandpa Ginder around 5:15am). Her recent blood test revealed that her immuno-globin count is low. She may need her tubes taken out and have new ones. So we'll take her to the immunologist and then ear-nose-throat doctor to address these concerns on Monday. Pray for her to receiving healing. Pray for her to sleep through the night, she just woke up about 10 minutes ago and is crying.

Theresa was at the immunologist with Eden all morning yesterday and the new test results clear Eden from immuno-globin deficiency. She'll most probably have her tubes replaced in the next couple weeks. She's been sleeping better since the move. Grandpa Ginder blames her lack of sleep on her unsettledness related to our transition. Maybe her unsettledness related to her realization that Theresa or Grandpa Ginder would go in and hold her early in the morning. These could be factors, but she has been waking up during coughing fits and sick with ear infections which hurt.

But we rejoice that its not as bad as initially thought, there are helpful next steps (replace tubes and new ear drop script, and she has been sleeping through the night in her new room in our new house. Note: Hayley and Ellen are for the first time in quite awhile, except for our month at Grandma/Grandpa Grosh, sharing a room without Eden. You might think this would give them more sleep, but they sleep through her crying for the most part as their Father (unlike Mommy and the Grandparents on both sides of the family).
