Sci-fi DVD Collection Recommendations

Dvorsky, a Canadian agenda-driven futurist, activist and award winning blogger who offers Transhumanist and Buddhist perspectives on science, philosophy, ethics, and the future of intelligent life (note: for more read Tagged). He's looking for glaring omissions and he's received a number of recommendations, including my own suggestion of some Doctor Who from the Tom Baker era. As I posted on his blog,
maybe he should define sci-fi and look for those most formative and most representative of the genre and then create categories such as animation, era, film, serial, etc. Any-one want to help out w/a definition of sci-fi and how hard sci-fi should be represented in film/TV?
