Prayer for my lower back
Posted by tom | Dec 17, 2007This afternoon, I [Tom] did something unhelpful to my lower back while playing 1-1 basketball with a friend. I don't know how to describe what occurred, except that I came down odd on my one foot and stretched something inappropriately in my lower back as I followed up my miss with another shot. Currently, I can't reach down to the floor, have difficulty getting my shoes/socks off/on, and am challenged by laying down/getting up. Sitting down and walking is fine. This prayer request should not be overshadowed by the praises:
1. I've had a lot more energy in general and for basketball in specific as I've scaled back some of my medication. Pray for discernment in wise use of the increased strength.
2. My sister was around to help out this afternoon, something I had inquired about before the injuiry.
Well, I'll wrap this up by saying that I'm a little tired after taking some Aleve, maybe it will be an early night for me. Currently the girls are spinning around the living room folding laundry. Wish I could help with Eden patrol, pray that I'll be ready to go tomorrow as Theresa is getting to the stage in her pregnancy where lifting and carrying Eden is a little too much. Which reminds me of another praise, Eden's mobility has continued to improve. She's walking short distances between various objectives, for example, her little table to the blanket chest in front of the TV.

My back has mostly healed. So, I'm ready for the heavy lifting of the boxes of books I'll receive on Christmas morn ;-)
A special thank-you to my sister for stepping-up and helping out over the past couple of days, even enabling Theresa and myself to have a night out at Barnes-and-Nobles with the baby-naming books. Pray for the mother and child to continue in good health. The next ultrasound is in about 2 weeks.
