Pink eye: a link between father and daughters
Posted by tom | Jan 12, 2008I returned from InterVarsity's National Staff Conference to quickly catch Bacterial conjunctivitis in my left eye from Eden. Wednesday was particularly bad for me.
Ellen brought home the below Get Well Soon Note from school:
Dear Dad,
I will do all your chores and don't feel like you have to. I love you!
Love your daughter,
Ellen Grosh
PS. I wish I had it. Not you! I love you daddy.
I thanked Ellen for the note and thanked her for unloading the dishwasher in the morning (and her commitment to continue to do such in addition to setting/clearing the dinner table). But I shared with her my great joy in her lack of pink eye before we prayed for the sick ones in the family to be healed.
Shortly afterward, Hayley dropped off a longer piece with a vision for the future, which I have yet to address. How quickly children grow up :-)
Dear Mom & Dad,
I think that since I am older now I would like to stay up later. And you Mom are getting a baby. So you might need to rest more. Dad you have pink eye right? So you make your chores [Was this to be: So I'll take your chores?]. Tell me what you think of this idea.
Sincerely,
Hayley Grosh
