God thing!
Posted by tom | Jan 27, 2008A brief update regarding the Mid-Atlantic Graduate student retreat which I directed this weekend, before I take a much need rest (particularly considering I picked up bacterial conjunctivitis again). The retreat was a God thing in a way that I may never have experienced before. Pictures and stories will go up shortly, but here are participant responses to What I enjoyed 'most' about our time together.
-Sharing prayer requests from around the world. [Note: We have a digital picture of the amazing list which was shared from the life stories of the rich diversity of those at the conference. Coming shortly.]
-Prayer time
-Praying together after watching God Grew Tired of us . . . Oh! and warming around the fireplace together (so romantic . . . ha ha :-))!!!
-The movie God Grew Tired of us
-Sudanese & Amish films [note from Tom: these were shown during optional recreation time opportunities]

-Making new friends in Christ! (face to face)
-Time with Christians
-The people of God in one place! :-)
-Community & Bible study!
-Inductive Bible study. Go Psalm!
-Scripture study
-The Psalms
-The camp itself!

-Time in the WORD -- Insights from Psalms. The People -- amazing. Location - pretty. Thanks Guys! Thank-you God. Love U.
Oh dear, hope you feel better soon. So glad the retreat went well! How have I not heard of the movie "God Grew Tired of Us" before? I'll have to look for it.
