A Prayer for 2009

Posted by tom | Jan 4, 2009

O God of our fathers, and Lord of mercy, who has made all things with your word, and ordained man through your wisdom, that he should have dominion over the creatures which you have made, give me wisdom that sits by your throne so that I might understand what is your will and be saved. For I am your servant. Amen. -- Cyril, ninth-century apostle to the Slavs.

Note:  For a glimpse into the roots of the Gospel among the Moravians, which is the Grosh family's ethnic/religious roots, visit a recent Christianity Today article Translating the Gospel in Eastern Europe: Early missionaries Cyril and Methodius gave the Slavic people an alphabet and a chance to worship God in their own language.  Tilling, planting, and watering the seed of the Word of God with joy and across generations, even in the face of great obstacles.
