Jeopardy
Posted by theresa | Jan 29, 2009Last night I came as close as I ever expect to come at being a Jeopardy contestant. I took the Jeopardy online test which is only given at specific times, i.e. you can't just log on and take it whenever you want to. It was 50 questions and you have 15 seconds to answer each one. No going back.
I was honest and didn't ask Tom to help me with the ones I didn't know. Sadly they don't tell you your score but I would estimate that I missed 10 of them. Not surprising my weakest areas were British Lit and poetry. Somehow missed those subjects in all my years of schooling.
Did pretty well on the current events questions even though I don't keep up with news well at all. And I blanked on Mount Sinai! We talk about it all the time in our family (Moses is pretty popular around here), but I couldn't remember the name of it. I finally remembered Mount Horeb but time was running out and I mistyped it as Hored. So that probably won't count.
I have no aspirations of actually being a Jeopardy contestant, which is good because my biggest area of weakness would be figuring out how much to wager to beat my opponent by $1. I'm not good at doing math in my head :)

Good for you! Perhaps we'll end up playing against each other. :)
BTW, you may have a better chance than you think. Surprisingly few women try out for Jeopardy!, but the show's producers attempt to have a 50/50 gender balance.
