IVCF/Groshes March Update

Posted by tom | Mar 3, 2010

I was intrigued with Dr. Kraybill for his intellectual insight on his belief on God. I was encouraged that he said his intellect drew him closer to God.  -- Emerging Scholar

Free: Cost of Discipleship/50 Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die

Posted by tom | Mar 1, 2010

In preparation for the Easter celebration of the cross and resurrection, Christian Audio is offering two free audiobooks.

The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die by John Piper.  Note: Piper's online resource library contains many of his media materials (including books) for free.  You can download a paper copy of Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die for free under the original title The Passion of Jesus Christ.

I'd encourage you to download these audios and reflect upon them.  If you don't have time during Lent as we approach Easter, keep them on file for another time.  Also, if you haven't already done such, I'd encourage you to watch Hanged on a Twisted Cross and ask you small group to consider exploring Christian Classics Bible Study on Dietrich Bonhoeffer at some point in the future.  Our small group was greatly blessed by both.

PS.  Posts on Bonhoeffer, which include material on his walk in Christ and the writings which he wrote:

Author Review: Dietrich Bonhoeffer
If Christ had done what you are doing who would have been spared?
This is the end, and, for me, the beginning of life.
PPS.  Some posts which touch on Bonhoeffer
