August 2012: Day 6 of Eden's OT

The New Therapy Journey: Constraint Induced Therapy (Day 6)

Eden's OT is getting very adept at making and modifying removable casts (secured by three velcro strips)! Eden had a purple repair done to her pink cast yesterday because it was starting to break.

Her current cast for swimming is red and blue -- very patriotic for last week's Olympics :) Her original acquatic cast didn't last long. And yes, she can swim with the cast on! The addition of a small back yard pool came at the perfect time. Thank-you to our friends who passed along the blessing.

Preparing for Day 7. At present Theresa and the younger two are playing hide-and-go-seek with little bears in a manner requiring the extension of the arm/hand to reach. The games to play at home are quite creative. Other examples include having other partners use toes (e.g., Tic-Tac-Tony, KerPlunk) or chopsticks (e.g., Disney Yahtzee) in various games instead of their fingers.
